The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has announced that the draw for land allocated in the third phase of Hulhumalé has begun.

The draw will take place at 9 am at Kalaafaanu School Hall and will be conducted in the presence of land recipients, with only one representative from each household allowed to attend. Participants are required to bring their identification card.

The ministry has made the chart of land plots allocated for the draw in Hulhumalé Phase III available on the Hiyaa portal.

Work on dredging the third phase of Hulhumalé has resumed, with 31.5 hectares of the total 63 hectares already completed. The dredging is expected to be finished within the next six months.

Under the Binveriyaa scheme, land was previously allocated from Hulhumalé’s second phase, Gulhifalhu, and Giraavaru lagoon during the administration of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. President Dr Mohamed Muizzu announced last month that dredging of Giraavaru lagoon and Hulhumalé’s third phase will be completed within three months.

Although land has been allocated from Gulhifalhu and Hulhumalé’s second phase, basic services including water, electricity, sewerage, and roads have not yet been established, preventing construction from beginning on these plots.
