Ministry of Tourism and Environment Initiates Island Tourism Survey
Ministry of Tourism and Environment launches survey to develop and strengthen Maldives’ island tourism
The Ministry of Tourism and Environment has launched a survey aimed at developing and strengthening island tourism across the Maldives.
The initiative seeks to gather key information to support improved policy formulation and enhance service quality, with a focus on promoting sustainable island tourism.
The survey is designed to capture a broad range of perspectives to better understand the challenges and opportunities within the sector.
Data will be collected until 27 December from three groups: guesthouse operators, island residents and tourists visiting the islands. Insights gathered from these groups are expected to reflect diverse experiences and contribute to shaping the future direction of island tourism.
The survey has already been carried out in Hulhumale’ in Male’ City, as well as in Maafushi and Dhiffushi in Kaafu Atoll.
