President Meets Taxi Drivers’ Association to Discuss Service Improvements

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with members of the Taxi Drivers’ Association at the President’s Office today to discuss challenges facing the sector and ways to improve services.

During the meeting, the Association highlighted issues related to taxi registration and parking and proposed immediate measures in Malé City to reduce traffic congestion. Members also shared their views on the Government’s upcoming taxi service and discussed the need for a comprehensive registry for drivers.

The President stressed the importance of maintaining an accurate and up-to-date registry for taxi drivers and outlined plans to provide additional facilities for those in the sector. He assured members that the Government would work closely with taxi drivers and other relevant stakeholders to address the concerns raised by the Association.
