Homeland Ministry Launches Job-Matching Programme for Unemployed Migrants

The Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology has decided to launch a job-matching programme to provide employment opportunities for unemployed migrants in the Maldives.

In a gazetted notice issued yesterday, the ministry said the initiative falls under the Mass Legalisation Programme being implemented as part of Operation Kurangi. The programme targets expatriates whose permits have expired or who lack valid identity documents.

As part of the initiative, the ministry will carry out job-matching activities for expatriates seeking employment. Expatriates who have updated their biometrics have been asked to submit applications after completing the required form.

The ministry said it will make necessary arrangements if employment is facilitated through the registry.
