Maldives Finish Runners-Up at CAVA Women’s Cup 2025

The Maldives women’s national volleyball team finished as runners-up at the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Cup for Women 2025, following a 3–1 defeat to Kyrgyzstan in the final held on Thursday evening.
First Lady Sajidha Mohamed attended the final match at the Maldives Centre for Social Education. Prior to the match, she met the Maldivian players and offered words of encouragement.
Earlier, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu expressed his support for the team in a post on X, encouraging their performance ahead of the final. He said he hoped for the team’s success and noted that the nation stood behind them.
Kyrgyzstan secured the title with a 3–1 victory, while the Maldives claimed second place in the tournament.
Following the match, the First Lady presented medals and trophies to the winners and joined the champions for a group photograph.
