Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has announced plans to introduce home nursing care services, enabling nurses and other healthcare professionals to visit patients at their homes to provide medical support and assistance.

As part of preparations for the service, the hospital has opened a procurement process for five motorcycles to be used by staff providing home-based care and for other hospital-related travel. The request specifies two Honda Airblades and three Honda Scoopy motorcycles.

IGMH has not yet confirmed a start date for the home nursing operations.

According to the procurement notice, bidders must submit quotations inclusive of GST and fully compliant with the specifications provided. The successful bidder will be responsible for clearing the motorcycles, completing registration requirements, ensuring one-year roadworthiness, and covering annual and insurance fees.

Bids will be accepted at 11:00 hrs on Wednesday at the Anthurium Meeting Hall of the IGMH Procurement Department. They will be opened in the presence of attendees, and late submissions will not be accepted.

The announcement comes amid ongoing public concern over long queues and delays in receiving treatment at the country’s main hospital.
