Speaker of Parliament Travels to Saudi Arabia on Official Visit

Speaker of the Parliament, Abdul Raheem Abdulla, has departed for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on an official visit from 19 to 24 January 2026, following an invitation from the Speaker of the Saudi Shura Council.
The Speaker is accompanied by a high-level parliamentary delegation, including Members of Parliament Mohamed Shahid (Hulhudhoo Constituency), Hussain Riza Adam (Maafushi Constituency), Ali Fazad (Fuvahmulah Central Constituency), and Azim Abdul Azeez (Villingili Constituency), as well as Secretary General of the People’s Majlis Uz. Fathimath Niusha.
Other officials in the delegation include Deputy Secretary General Mohamed Rasheed, Chief of Bureau Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik, and Director of Foreign Relations Zuyyina Badhree.
The Speaker and the delegation are scheduled to return to the Maldives on 24 January 2026.
