Izyan Abdul Aleem (Izy), Junior Big Game Fisher

Today we bring the story of Izyan Abdul Aleem (Izy), who at just 12 years old, is already making waves in the world of big game fishing.

A Grade 7 student at Ghiyasuddin International School, Izy began fishing in 2025, yet he has explored atolls across the Maldives, from K. and V. Atoll to Th., B., R. and Hdh. Atoll.

His passion lies in jigging and casting, and his adventures have taken him on unforgettable expeditions to Buruni in Th. Atoll, Gaafaru and Dhiffushi in K. Atoll, and Makunudhoo in Hdh. Atoll. Among his proudest achievements are landing a giant yellowfin tuna at Makunudhoo and a sizeable wahoo during the Buruni expedition — a trip he calls his most memorable so far.

Now a youth brand ambassador for Piratez Strike and Malosi by Underground Maldives, as well as Cool Kids by Izy.mv, Izy represents a new generation chasing big dreams on open waters. With the 08 Degree Channel Expedition set for March 2026 and the mighty Napoleon fish on his bucket list, his journey is only just beginning.
