Australian National Found Dead in Addu City, Police Confirm

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has identified the man found dead yesterday in the swimming track area of Addu City as an Australian national.

Police said the body was discovered at the swimming track in Hithadhoo at around 4:41 p.m. Authorities later identified the deceased as Daniel De Giovanni, a 60-year-old Australian who had been residing in the Maldives on a work visa.

According to police, officers are currently working to determine the cause of death.

MPS has not released further information regarding the case.
