Expatriate Worker Seriously Injured in Stabbing Incident in Malé

An expatriate worker sustained serious injuries after being stabbed in an incident reported in the Maldivian capital.
Police stated that they received reports at 1:08 am on Saturday that a man who had been assaulted with a sharp object had been taken to ADK Hospital.
The victim has been identified as a 38-year-old Bangladeshi national, who sustained serious injuries to his throat.
Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with the case. Police confirmed that another Bangladeshi national, 28-year-old Anthar Mulla, was taken into custody under a court order on Friday night.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the assault took place on Karankaa Magu in Malé. Police continue to investigate the case.
