MET Office Issues White Alert for Lhaviyani Atoll to Addu City

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a White Alert warning of heavy rain and thunderstorms from Lhaviyani Atoll to Addu City.

The alert is from 10:00 hours to 16:00 hours, with forecast warns of heavy rain and thunderstorms with gusts of wind up to 40 mph during this period. The MMS warns of rough seas as well.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows: 


White alert: Alert Level 1 
Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2 
Orange warning: Alert Level 3 
Red warning: Alert Level 4
