President Muizzu Departs for Singapore on Unofficial Visit

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu departed for Singapore last night on an unofficial visit.

The President’s Office did not provide further details regarding the trip, including its duration or the President’s expected return date.

This marks President Muizzu’s first unofficial visit to Singapore this year. He visited the country twice last year, once in July and again in December.

The President and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed also travelled to Singapore on a state visit in June 2025.

Earlier this month, the President and First Lady visited Sri Lanka on a state visit, during which seven memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed across multiple sectors.

According to the President’s Office, discussions during the visit focused on diplomatic relations, bilateral cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries.
