“How I want a guest to remember me is as a magician,” says Hawwa Ajfan. “I want to be able to bring a solution for them, to make their stay more memorable. And I think I have the power through flowers,” she added.
Hawwa Ajfan, better known as Ajja, is redefining contemporary floral art in the Maldives through sculptural arrangements, emotional storytelling, and a passion for creativity. Currently working as an interior florist at The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, she creates immersive floral experiences that reflect the elegance and beauty of the Maldives beyond its tropical imagery.
Driven by curiosity and ambition, Ajja spends her annual holidays attending international workshops and connecting with floral designers abroad. These experiences inspired her dream of becoming a European Master Florist and one day representing the Maldives in the World Cup Floral Art competition.
That vision later blossomed into Mrs. Curly Florist, a creative platform focused on floral education, bespoke styling, and artistic expression. Together with her husband, Mohamed Moosir Ali, who works behind the scenes as a photographer and content creator, Ajja has built a brand rooted in emotion, artistry, and storytelling.
Known for her sculptural and contemporary floral designs, Ajja carefully studies colours, textures, interiors, and botanicals to craft arrangements that spark conversation and emotion, whether for weddings, restaurant centrepieces, or intimate celebrations.
Through her work at The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, and her growing presence on Instagram, Ajja continues to shape a new narrative for floristry in the Maldives, where flowers become art, memories, and meaningful human connections.
