MNDF Mobilised to Pump Water From Flooded Streets in Addu City and Madaveli

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Southern Area Command has mobilised personnel to manage street flooding in Addu City Feydhoo and Gaafu Dhaalu Madaveli, following a period of heavy rainfall across the archipelago.

Firefighters from the Hithadhoo Fire Station commenced water-pumping operations in Feydhoo early this morning at around 03:45. The team remained on-site until approximately 10:10 to drain the accumulated rainwater from the affected streets, with authorities reporting that conditions have since returned to normal.

A similar operation was carried out in Gaafu Dhaalu Madaveli by personnel from the Thinadhoo Fire Station. Flooding response efforts on the island’s roads began at approximately 01:35 and concluded around 09:40 today, according to the MNDF.
