The injured individuals—a 38-year-old Maldivian male who was the speedboat captain and a Bangladeshi male crew member—were taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment. The vessel was later brought to Male’ Jetty No. 1.

Police initially launched an investigation into the cause of the incident and later identified the other vessel involved as a supply dhoni. According to investigators, the dhoni left the scene without stopping after the collision.

Authorities have confirmed that the matter is being treated as a separate offence in relation to the failure to stop and remain at the scene. Legal action is now being pursued as part of the ongoing investigation.

The hospital has since informed police that the condition of both injured individuals is now stable.
