The registration service for home-based food production businesses will be transferred to the government’s OneGov platform from next week, the Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has announced.
MFDA said the transition will take effect on 7 June, with the service becoming available through the OneGov portal from Sunday. As part of the migration process, the service will be removed from the Dhirithi portal starting tomorrow.
The authority did not indicate any changes to the registration process itself, stating only that the service would be shifted to the government’s centralised digital platform for public services.
MFDA launched its online information system portal in 2019 to facilitate access to a range of regulatory services. At the time, the Ministry of Health said the digital platform would help speed up and simplify services provided by the authority.
These services include the registration and permit processing of imported food products and medicines, as well as the issuance of border health clearances.
