The scholarship scheme includes a Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) with a pathway to the Accounting and Auditing Organisation for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) Certificate Proficiency, offered at University Islam Selangor (UIS). The programme runs for three years of full-time study, followed by a six-month internship.

At postgraduate level, the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) will offer LLM programmes in Islamic Banking and Finance, Business Law, Administration of Islamic Law and International Law, each lasting one year. IIUM also offers a two-year Master of Economics.

For doctoral studies, INCEIF University will host PhD programmes in Islamic Finance and Applied Muamalat (Economics and Finance), with a duration of three years through coursework, dissertation or research.

The MMA stated that selection will be based on academic merit, relevance of prior qualifications, professional experience where applicable, and performance in interviews and assessments.

Successful candidates must sign a scholarship agreement before departure and maintain satisfactory academic performance throughout their studies. Upon completion, recipients are required to return to the Maldives and serve a five-year bond contributing to national development. Any withdrawal or suspension without approval may result in repayment of the scholarship funds.

The MMA advised applicants to review university entry requirements carefully before applying, as admission is subject to acceptance by the respective institutions. Applicants are also required to obtain pre-approval from the Maldives Qualifications Authority before commencing their studies.
