Six People Given Treatment Following Fire Incident in a Hulhumalé Flat
Six people received hospital treatment following a fire incident at a ground-floor kitchen at Flat 141 in Hulhumalé Phase 1 early this morning.
According to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), the fire originated from an electric kettle in the kitchen. The incident was reported at 4:32 am, and firefighters from the MNDF Male’ Area Command’s Hulhumalé Fire Station responded immediately to the scene.
The fire was brought under control and fully extinguished by 4:58 am.
MNDF stated that six individuals suffered smoke inhalation as a result of the incident. All six were transported to Hulhumalé Hospital for medical treatment.
MNDF also stated that the military personnel at the scene confirmed that six people required hospital treatment due to smoke inhalation.
Following the incident, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is working to relocate the affected family of six to temporary accommodation and provide the necessary humanitarian assistance.
