Individual Arrested on Suspicion of Smuggling, Selling, and Trafficking Drugs into Milandhoo
The suspect was later presented before the court to determine his remand status, where the court ordered that he be held in custody for 10 days pending further investigation.
A 44-year-old man from Sh. Milandhoo has been remanded in custody for 10 days after being arrested on suspicion of smuggling, selling and trafficking drugs into the island.
Police identified the suspect as Mohamed Saeed Hassan.
According to the Maldives Police Service, the arrest was made following an intelligence-led operation conducted by officers from Milandhoo Police Station.
During the operation on Sunday, police searched the suspect’s residence and discovered eight paper packets containing substances suspected to be narcotics.
The suspect was later presented before the court to determine his remand status, where the court ordered that he be held in custody for 10 days pending further investigation.
Police said investigations into the case are ongoing.
