House Fire in Malé Extinguished; One Hospitalised for Smoke Inhalation with No Serious Injuries Reported
The fire broke out at M. Sukkathurage after receiving reports of the incident at around 9:42 am.
One person was taken to hospital for treatment after inhaling smoke in a house fire in Malé this morning, with no serious injuries reported.
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Fire and Rescue Service reported that they had extinguished the fire that broke out at M. Sukkathurage after receiving reports of the incident at around 9:42 am.
Firefighters from the Malé Fire Station responded immediately and brought the fire under control by approximately 10:12 am, according to the MNDF.
They said that the fire originated from a cupboard inside the house.

One individual suffered smoke inhalation during the incident and was taken to the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment.
No other injuries were reported, and the fire was successfully extinguished before it spread further, the MNDF said.
