Government School Admissions Open for 2027 Academic Year

The Ministry of Education has opened applications for admission to government schools for the 2027 academic year.

The application form, which is available on the Ministry’s website, will be used for the admission of new students to all government schools across the Maldives.

Applications must be submitted by the end of August.

The Ministry said the email address and telephone number provided when completing the application form will be registered as the parent’s official contact details and shared with the relevant school.

The current academic calendar remains unchanged, with the first term ending on 16 July and students beginning their holiday on 17 July. The second term is scheduled to commence on 2 August.

The 2026 academic year will conclude on 18 December, after which students will receive their year-end holiday.

The 2027 academic year is scheduled to begin on 17 January 2027.
