Police Commissioner, Chinese Ambassador Discuss Strengthening Cooperation

Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed met China’s Ambassador to the Maldives, Kong Xianhua, on Tuesday to discuss strengthening cooperation between the two countries and enhancing support for the Maldives Police Service.

The meeting was held at the Shaheed Hussain Adam Building, the headquarters of the Maldives Police Service.

According to the police, the discussions focused on further strengthening the long-standing friendly relations between the Maldives and China. The Commissioner also expressed appreciation to the Chinese government for its continued assistance in supporting the development of police services in the Maldives, while acknowledging the close bilateral ties and cooperation across a range of sectors.

The two also exchanged views on future areas of cooperation aimed at improving the capacity and operational readiness of the Maldives Police Service.

China is one of the Maldives’ largest development partners and has provided assistance to the country across a range of sectors.
