President Begins Direct Consultations with Citizens Under ‘Rayyithunge Adu’ Programme

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has launched the ‘Rayyithunge Adu’ programme, providing citizens with an opportunity to meet him directly and raise individual concerns.

The President’s Office broadcast the first episode of the programme yesterday through social media and state media, featuring highlights from the initial round of consultations.

Under the programme, the President holds one-to-one meetings with registered citizens, discusses the issues they raise and explores ways for the government to address their concerns through practical and timely solutions, the President’s Office said. 

The nationwide initiative covers all 93 electoral constituencies. Registration initially opened for citizens of Hulhumalé North, Hulhudhoo, Hoarafushi and Hulhumalé Central, followed by Maafannu South, Ungoofaaru, Kelaa and Fuvahmulah South in the second round.

Registration for the third round is currently open to citizens of Ihavandhoo, Naifaru, Fonadhoo, Meedhoo, Vilimalé, Machangolhi South, Maamigili and Thinadhoo North.

President Muizzu first announced the initiative on June 25, saying it would allow citizens from constituencies across the country to meet and converse with him directly. The programme is aimed at providing a platform for citizens to raise individual concerns directly with the President.
