MVR 4.8 Million Disbursed for Disability-Related Therapy in July

A total of MVR 4.85 million was disbursed in July 2026 to provide therapy assistance to 265 individuals with disabilities, according to the latest figures.
The assistance covered seven types of therapy, with speech therapy receiving the largest allocation at MVR 1.39 million, followed by occupational therapy at MVR 1.33 million and behaviour therapy at MVR 1.24 million.
Of the 265 recipients, 195 were male and 70 were female. Educational therapy accounted for MVR 773,035, while psychotherapy received MVR 46,800, physiotherapy MVR 39,960 and early intervention therapy MVR 34,200.

Meanwhile, the National Disability Registry has 15,549 registered individuals. The largest category is physical support needs, with 4,227 people, followed by multiple disabilities with 3,520 and psychological conditions with 2,435.
