President Muizzu has extended formal condolences to the Prime Minister of Nepal, Balendra Shah, after severe flash flooding caused widespread destruction and loss of life across the country.
In an official message dispatched to Prime Minister Shah on Wednesday, President Muizzu expressed deep sorrow over the heavy casualties and extensive damage resulting from the deluge.
Writing on behalf of the Maldivian Government and its citizens, President Muizzu directed his sympathies to the Nepalese government, the affected communities, and the bereaved families who lost loved ones in the disaster. He also offered wishes for a swift and complete recovery to all individuals injured during the flooding.
Furthermore, the President commended the ongoing efforts of Nepal’s emergency response teams, praising personnel for working tirelessly to secure affected areas and protect vulnerable citizens.
