MACL Displays Aviation Engineering Expertise to Youth at National Engineers’ Day Children’s Evening

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) showcased its core technical and engineering operations during the National Engineers’ Day Children’s Evening at Hulhumalé Central Park on Sunday.

Running from 16:00 to 18:00, the event aimed to raise awareness amongst children regarding the critical role of engineering in national development while fostering interest in technical professions.

As the operator of Velana International Airport (VIA), MACL presented interactive displays and demonstrations covering seven key technical and operational areas, including Water and Sewerage Services (WSS), Mechanical Services Unit (MSU), Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Fuel Services, Information Technology (IT), Aerodrome Ground Aids (AGA), and Power Generation and Distribution (PGDD) / Electrical.

During the event, engineers and technical personnel engaged directly with young visitors and members of the public, sharing practical experiences and explaining the operational mechanics required to maintain the nation’s primary international gateway around the clock. Company representatives also outlined career opportunities within the aviation sector, emphasizing MACL’s ongoing effort to support the development of future technical professionals in the Maldives.
