During the talks, Minister Zareer emphasised the strategic value of the relationship, noting that financial collaboration with the Abu Dhabi-based institution remains integral to advancing national infrastructure goals.

The Maldivian government expressed its formal gratitude to the ADFD leadership for the fund’s continued backing of key national development programmes over recent years.

The ADFD, an economic development entity owned by the Abu Dhabi government, has historically provided soft loans and development grants to help island nations enhance critical public infrastructure, energy resilience, and transport networks.
