Father Dies of Injuries Following Hulhumalé Road Crash

A father who was undergoing medical treatment after being injured alongside his child in a road accident in Hulhumalé late last month has passed away. The collision occurred on August 31.

The accident occurred at the four-way intersection of Hiinaamaa Hingun and Dunburigas Magu in Hulhumalé Phase 2 when a car collided with a motorcycle, police confirmed.

The victim was identified as 62-year-old Mohamed Afeef of Lh. Kurendhoo, who was driving the motorcycle. His 24-year-old son also sustained injuries in the accident.

Funeral prayers for Mohamed Afeef, who passed away while receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), will be held at the Hulhumalé Cemetery Mosque following the afternoon prayer today.

This marks the second road fatality in Hulhumalé within the past month. The first victim was a nine-year-old child who succumbed to injuries sustained in a crash near the Vinares flats.
