Man Hospitalised Following Violent Group Assault in Malé

A 35-year-old Maldivian man has been admitted to hospital following a group assault in the capital early this morning. 

In a message shared with the media, the Maldives Police Service said officers received a report of an ongoing altercation in Huvafenee Goalhi, located in the Galolhu ward of Malé, at approximately 02:32 AM.

The victim sustained injuries during the incident and was transferred to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for medical treatment. Police did not disclose the extent of his injuries.

Police confirmed that an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the assault is currently underway. No details regarding potential suspects or arrests have yet been released.
