Maldives and Kenya Strengthen Diplomatic Ties with MoU on Political Consultations

The Republic of Maldives and the Republic of Kenya have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Political Consultations on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York to strengthen bilateral ties.
Maldivian Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam and Kenyan Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Minister Dr. Musalia Mudavadi signed the agreement on behalf of their respective nations following a bilateral meeting.

As per the official statement released by the Maldivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the accord establishes a formal mechanism for regular inter-ministerial dialogues aimed at enhancing political discourse, identifying new avenues for joint collaboration, and strengthening the broader partnership.
While emphasising that this agreement reaffirms the shared commitment of the two nations to deepening mutual cooperation for the benefit of their peoples, the Ministry also notes that both countries have maintained warm relations since establishing diplomatic ties on 23 October 1995.
