Man Arrested in Dh. Meedhoo for Home Brewing and Alcohol Consumption

A 40-year-old man has been arrested in Dh. Meedhoo on suspicion of manufacturing and consuming alcohol, police said.

The man, identified by police as Abdulla Naseer of Finihiyaa, Dh. Meedhoo, was arrested during an operation conducted by Meedhoo Police last Wednesday.

Police said officers searched his room during the operation and found substances believed to be alcohol, along with equipment suspected to have been used in its production.

Naseer was presented before the court for a remand hearing in connection with the case. The court ordered that he be detained for 10 days.

Police said the investigation into the case is ongoing.
