Earlier in the morning, President and Commander-in-Chief Dr Mohamed Muizzu, alongside First Lady Sajidha Mohamed, presided over a ceremonial flag-hoisting and guard-mounting event at the November 3 Victory Monument to commemorate the anniversary.

Upon arrival at the monument square, they were received by the Minister of Defence and National Service, Hassan Rasheed.

During the ceremony, military personnel executed the formal flag-hoisting and mounted the guard. The proceedings concluded with a seven-gun salute, a moment of silence in remembrance of the national heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice, and a special prayer dedicated to the occasion.
