Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the leading contender from the People’s National Congress (PNC) party in the upcoming presidential election, has affirmed his commitment to retaining political appointees.

Addressing supporters at a campaign rally held in HA.Dhidhdhoo, Muizzu highlighted one of his pivotal policy objectives: the creation of employment opportunities that enable citizens to lead lives of dignity.

Recognising the presence of a significant number of individuals in roles established for political reasons, Muizzu conveyed his stance of non-targeting towards these appointees. He clarified that while he has no intentions of disbanding these positions, he is open to instituting changes such as relocating them to other enterprises if their current employments pose financial strains.

Furthermore, Muizzu outlined his commitment to regaining land ownership and advancing the construction of an airport in Dhidhdhoo. He expressed his intent to prioritize the engagement of local island and atoll residents for airport-related services.

Emphasising healthcare, Muizzu promised to oversee the enhancement of the Haa Alifu Hospital in Dhidhdhoo, underscoring his dedication to fostering increased prospects for the youth.

As part of his campaign strategy, Muizzu is embarking on a tour of islands in both Haa Alifu Atoll and Haa Dhaalu Atoll. Subsequently, he is scheduled to extend his campaign to Vaavu Atoll, Meemu Atoll, Faafu Atoll, and Dhaalu Atoll.
