ECM Increases Number of Polling Stations in Male’ City

The Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) has announced its decision to establish seven additional polling stations within Male’ city.

The ECM’s tweet discloses that adjustments have been made to 40 polling stations in Male’, Hulhumale’, Villimale’, and overseas locations, based on the number of re-registered voters up to Saturday.
To access information about the assigned polling station and area, individuals can refer to the dedicated portal on the ECM website. Alternatively, this information can be obtained by sending an SMS containing VR space IDNO to 1414.
In preparation for the upcoming presidential election, a total of 574 polling stations will be established. Notably, 176 ballot boxes will be situated within the Greater Male’ area. Furthermore, eight ballot boxes are set to be deployed across five foreign countries.
The eligible voting population for the presidential election is recorded at 282,395 individuals. Of these, 42,867 voters have completed the re-registration process in anticipation of the election.
An inclusion in this year’s electoral process is the participation of 27,006 new voters.
