The combined efforts of the Child and Family Protection Service within the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services and the Ocean Warriors Institute have given rise to the Youth Resilience Program. A ceremony at Dh. Kudahuvadhoo FCSC held last Thursday, marked the conclusion of the programme’s initial phase, with 11 students reaching this milestone.
Designed to provide crucial skills to individuals aged 16 to 18, the Youth Resilience Program prepares them for the job market and also facilitates potential careers in water sports through necessary licensing.
An event celebrating the programme’s progress saw students receiving prizes and certificates for their achievements. These honours were presented by the Minister of Home Affairs, Sheikh Imran Abdullah.
Minister of Gender, Family and Social Services, Aishath Mohammed Didi, reflected on the program’s origins during the Covid-19 pandemic. Overcoming funding challenges, the initiative garnered support from relevant authorities, securing its implementation.
Minister Didi commended the participants for completing the initial phase and encouraged their perseverance for the upcoming stages.
The next phase of the programme will offer practical workplace exposure within resorts.
Acknowledgement was extended to individuals whose contributions were integral to the program’s success, conveyed through memorial certificates.
Dignitaries including the Home Minister, State Ministers of the Gender Ministry, and representatives from the Ocean Warriors Institute attended the event.
