Higher Education Ministry Hands Over Seven Doctors Specialisation Scholarships

The Ministry of Higher Education granted the Medical Doctors Specialisation Scholarships to seven individuals, last Friday.
Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim Hassan, highlighted the government’s past initiatives in supporting healthcare workers pursuing further education.
He further stated that the aim of these scholarships is to cultivate specialised medical practitioners who can contribute to the improvement of healthcare services across various hospitals and health centers nationwide.
Minister of Health, Ahmed Naseem, highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between Ministries to offer scholarship opportunities within the healthcare sector. He expressed confidence in the recipients’ ability to provide quality healthcare services to the public upon their return.
The scholarships cover seven medical specialisations: Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Spine Surgery, Pediatric Pulmonology, Gynecology, General Surgery, and Pediatrics. These fields have been chosen to address critical healthcare needs.
Recipients will have the chance to pursue their studies in countries including Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, and Pakistan.
The government is set to fully cover all expenses associated with the scholarships, demonstrating its commitment to the development of skilled medical professionals.
