Elaborating on the purpose behind the MVR 1 billion fund, Mohamed Nazim underscored its pivotal role in extending financial aid to individuals who are undergoing difficulties across diverse spheres of life. Registration for the fund has been opened, and it is intended to cater to every citizen of the Maldives, ensuring a wide reach of support.

The allocation of assistance will follow a priority-based system, with particular attention directed towards the most vulnerable and destitute individuals and families. This concerted effort aims to promptly address pressing needs, as beneficiaries will be listed in the gazette as soon as the presidential term commences, thereby facilitating immediate aid distribution.

He explained that the underlying objective of establishing this fund is to provide practical solutions to individuals who are confronted with urgent, individual-level issues.

In the event of an MNP government assuming power, emphasis will be placed on supporting individuals in areas currently undergoing development and dredging, alongside efforts to facilitate housing construction.
