This change comes after a request from educators to align the staff requirements of schools with the criteria for elevating public service rank five (diploma level) teachers to public service rank seven (bachelor’s degree level).
The commission is now in the process of creating the necessary positions to accommodate these promotions, with announcements expected later this month.
According to the Civil Service Rules, positions for rank seven teachers are required to be advertised within the agency in March, June, September, and December of each year.
Importantly, this promotion to rank seven will not be considered an additional post, as it aligns with the specialisation and requirement criteria stipulated in the Civil Service Rules.
