Muizzu pledged to prioritise the preservation and revitalisation of Islam, the Maldivian language, and the country’s culture, making it a central focus of his upcoming administration.

He highlighted the role that religious scholars and educators would play in this initiative, urging them to participate in the changes he aims to bring about actively.

Muizzu voiced concerns about the gradual erosion of the Maldivian identity due to systemic factors. He called upon educational institutions, schools, and universities to play a proactive role in addressing this issue and working towards positive change.

Muizzu also highlighted the risk of society moving away from Islamic principles unknowingly and stressed the need for collective efforts to find immediate solutions to these challenges. He emphasised that scientific research is essential to reviving nationalism and addressing religious matters in the Maldives while also understanding the current state of these issues.

Furthermore, Muizzu unveiled plans to establish a dedicated ministry to revive the Maldivian language, culture, and history. This ministry will serve as a systematic platform for conducting relevant work. Additionally, the educational curriculum will be updated to incorporate sections pertaining to Islam and the cultural heritage of the Maldivian people.
