FSC to Conduct a Seminar on PCOS, Registration is Now Open

The Fertility Support Community (FSC) has opened registration for the seminar on Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), set to take place on November 2nd at the Maldives National University (MNU). 

The seminar aims to address the lack of information and awareness surrounding PCOS in the country.

The Fertility Support Community (FSC) has expressed ongoing concerns about the public’s limited understanding of PCOS, backed by data, the FSC has stated that there is a significant overlap between individuals experiencing fertility problems in the country and PCOS.

The seminar is structured into three segments:

1. Sharing Personal Experiences: Notable individuals are set to share their experiences with PCOS. The speakers include Nabyla Shiyam, owner of Luscious Layers and a social media influencer; Aminath Haifa, Head of Programs at SSTV; Asha Hussain, President of the Fertility Support Community; and Mariyam Shaniz, former Vice President of the Fertility Support Community.

2. Panel Discussion by Health Experts: Health professionals will engage in a panel discussion to shed light on PCOS. The panelists are Dr. Mohamed Siruhan, an Endocrinologist and Advisory Committee Member of the Fertility Support Community; Dr. Zakiya Ahmed, an Infertility Specialist and Advisory Committee Member of the Fertility Support Community; Aishath Shifana Wajyh, CEO of Heat and Advisory Committee Member of the Fertility Support Community; and Mariyam Ifshan, a Lecturer from the Faculty of Health Sciences at MNU.

3. Question and Answer Session: Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on PCOS-related issues.

Collaborating partners for the seminar include the Maldives National University, SSTV, The Wellness Club, and Medica Hospital.

As an incentive for attendees, the seminar offers rewards, including four months of complimentary personal training from The Wellness Club for ten lucky participants, along with free hormone tests and endocrinology appointments for ten individuals.
