TD Condemns MDP’s Alleged Attempt to Obstruct Muizzu’s Swearing-In Ceremony

In a press release, TD (The Democrat’s) has strongly criticised the Maldivian Democratic Party’s (MDP) parliamentary group for their alleged attempt’s to obstruct the upcoming swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The statement from TD comes as a response to what they describe as an unsavory move by the unsuccessful candidate, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, to influence some members of the MDP’s parliamentary group.

Muizzu, the People’s National Congress candidate, secured the majority of votes in the last presidential election, alongside Vice-President-elect Hussain Mohamed Latheef.
TD calls upon the MDP to demonstrate respect and fairness in their actions, especially during this period of transition of power.
