National Ambulance Service Introduced in Greater Malé Region
The National Ambulance Service has officially inaugurated in Male’ area, at a ceremony held at Jumhooree Maidhaan, yesterday.
In a proactive measure to address medical emergencies promptly, a 24-hour call center with the dedicated number 100 has been established to facilitate the National Ambulance Service in the Greater Malé Area.
According to the Health Ministry, the primary objective of this initiative is to extend pre-hospital care to individuals facing medical crises and accidents, ensuring they receive necessary attention before reaching a healthcare facility.

This service will be a collaborative effort, utilising the expertise and resources of the hospitals in the Greater Malé Area and the National Ambulance Service. Various prominent healthcare institutions within the Malé area are actively participating in the provision of this essential service.
While the service has commenced in the Greater Malé Area, there are plans for its expansion to other regions in the near future, promising improved healthcare accessibility across the nation.
