Minister Shahid Highlights SAARC as Region’s Key Intergovernmental Platform

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, Abdulla Shahid, has emphasised the role of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) as the foremost intergovernmental platform in the region.
Minister Shahid conveyed this sentiment in a congratulatory message to the newly appointed Secretary General of SAARC, Md Golam Sarwar, as he assumed his responsibilities.

In his message, Minister Shahid extended warm congratulations and best wishes to Secretary General Sarwar. He further underlined the Maldives government’s full support for Secretary General Sarwar’s endeavors.
In closing, Minister Shahid expressed optimism for the continued peace, development, and prosperity of the people in South Asia.
