The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has commenced the redevelopment of the remaining sections of Ameenee Magu today, with work officially underway on segments 12 and 13 of the road.

In the course of the redevelopment, certain roads in the vicinity have been temporarily closed, leading to alterations in traffic patterns in the area.

It is noteworthy that the Maafannu end of Ameenee Magu serves as a bustling hub, hosting various amenities such as food courts, a mosque, the Villimale’ Ferry Terminal, and the Dhiraagu head office. The proposed changes to the traffic flow are expected to be managed in a manner that minimises disruptions to the daily activities of the area.

The Ameenee Magu redevelopment project, initially contracted to RDC by the former administration on July 3, comes with an allocated budget of MVR 84.4 million.
