Residents of the interconnected islands of Addu are grappling with an ongoing water service outage, marking the third day since water supply services ceased in the city.
Expressing their discontent, many Addu residents have taken to social media platforms to voice their concerns.
Addu Meedhoo MP, Rozaina Adam, criticized the government, asserting that the situation was not being treated with the seriousness it deserved.

Rozaina implored the government to expedite the resolution of the issue, highlighting the challenging living conditions faced by the residents.
Water supply services in Addu are managed by the state utility company, Fenaka Corporation.
The water services interruption in the interconnected islands of Addu occurred on Thursday afternoon.
Addressing the cause of the outage on Friday, Fenaka reported damage to a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) in the Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant. A replacement unit was swiftly transported from Maleβ and installed at the plant on Friday night.
In a statement issued, Fenaka explained that they were in the process of reconfiguring the control cable and reprogramming the system. They assured residents that water services would be fully restored “in one hour.”
Addu, the second most populous city in the Maldives after Maleβ City, is home to approximately 12,000 residents, a significant portion of whom reside in the interconnected islands.
