MET Office Issues Yellow Alert from Kaafu to Dhaalu Atoll

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a yellow allert for the region spanning from Kaafu atoll to Dhaalu atoll.

This alert is in effect from 16:00 hours to 20:00 hours, today. The forecast warns of torrential rain and thunderstorms, with gusts of upto 40mph and rough seas within the affected region.

The MMS recommends that individuals residing in or visiting the affected regions remain alert and take appropriate safety measures.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

• White alert: Alert Level 1
• Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
• Orange warning: Alert Level 3
• Red warning: Alert Level 4
