President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has reiterated assurances regarding the timely completion of the F. Feeali reclamation project, addressing concerns raised by a resident during the ‘Raees ge Javaabu’ series, yesterday.
Ibrahim Shanoon, a Feeali resident, sought clarification on the progress of various development projects on the island, including reclamation, harbor development, and road construction.
Responding to Shanoon’s inquiry about the erosion affecting the reclaimed area, Muizzu acknowledged the existing challenges and outlined ongoing efforts to address them. He highlighted the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company’s (MTCC) current initiatives to transport rock boulders for constructing revetments around the reclaimed land.
Emphasising the urgency of the situation, Muizzu expressed optimism that these efforts would expedite the completion of the reclamation, including areas affected by erosion.
Muizzu reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling promises made to the public, including the development of major roads across islands, including Feeali. He clarified that these projects would be executed as budget allocations permit, underlining the government’s dedication to infrastructure enhancement in line with policy objectives. Additionally, he assured residents of the expansion of Feeali harbor, further demonstrating the government’s commitment to development initiatives.
As discussions regarding infrastructure projects continue, Muizzu reiterated his administration’s dedication to addressing community concerns and fulfilling development commitments across the Maldives.
