Maldives Customs Service Names First Female Deputy Commissioner

The Maldives Customs Service appointed its first female Deputy Commissioner, Fathimath Dhiyana from Sandharu, Lh. Hinnavaru.

The formal presentation of her letter of appointment took place during a ceremony at the Customs Building yesterday, where she received it from the Commissioner of Customs, Yoosuf Maniu.

Describing the appointment as a notable stride towards gender equality and empowerment within the agency, the Maldives Customs Service highlighted its commitment to fostering inclusivity and diversity.

With an impressive 23 years of experience within the Maldives Customs Service, Dhiyana has served in various capacities, most recently as Deputy Chief Superintendent.

Her addition to the leadership team sees her joining Deputy Commissioners of Customs Abdulla Waheed and Mahmood Riyaz in steering the agency forward.
