Chief Superintendent Shifan Appointed Police Spokesperson

The Maldives Police Service has appointed Chief Superintendent Ahmed Shifan as its official spokesperson.

Shifan, who previously served as the police spokesperson during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, assumes this role in addition to his current duties as the head of the police commissioner’s office.

Prior to this appointment, Shifan held the responsibility of overseeing the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement, commonly referred to as the Addu Police Academy.

The decision to designate Shifan as the police spokesperson underscores a strategic move within the force, potentially signalling a continuation of established communication practices.
