President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has commenced a three-day visit to various islands within the North and South Maalhosmadulu Atoll today. This tour aims to engage with residents, island councils, and Women’s Development Committees (WDC) across the region.
During his itinerary, the President is set to visit multiple islands within the Maalhosmadulu Atoll, where he will interact with local communities and councils. Scheduled meetings include engagements with the atoll councils of both the North and South Maalhosmadulu Atoll, as well as discussions with Women’s Development Committees.
The visit aligns with the President’s broader initiative to tour all Maldivian atolls, to ensure active participation in community development efforts.
President Dr. Muizzu has reiterated his commitment to visiting every island in the nation at least twice within the next five years.
In February, the President conducted a similar tour, visiting Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, Thinadhoo City, Thaa Atoll, and Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll. Meetings were held with all the councils of these atolls, with the exception of two councils in Gaafu Alifu Atoll.
Additionally, discussions were held with councils and Women’s Development Committees of Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, and Shaviyani atolls. In Noonu Atoll, the President engaged with all councils except one, addressing various development concerns raised by local communities.
